Thank you for being here! May you and your family be Blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ!
One-Third of Christians Will Not Vote
My intention this week was to talk more about God’s Law, until I heard George Barna predicting that more than 30% of Christians will not vote next month opening the door to the godless political party that embraces abortion like it is the Holy Grail of King Arthur’s day.
Citizens Have A Duty To Vote
It is every citizen’s right and duty to vote. This is particularly true for Christians who are commanded by Jesus Christ to be ‘salt and light.’
Matthew 5:13-16
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Christians Must Vote With Biblical Worldview!
Calling yourself a Christian requires you to act in a Godly fashion; This means following God’s Law. You should vote with a Bible in your hand; go to Exodus 20:1-17, where you will find the Ten Commandments. The Sixth Commandment prohibits murder! The Seventh Commandment prohibits Adultery! Then comes Stealing, Lying, and Coveting! If you are going to call yourself a Christian, you must vote with a Biblical Worldview!
Biblical Heroes Dealt With Politics
Perhaps you think of politics as a dirty and disgusting business beneath the dignity and righteousness of Christians and should just be ignored? The heroes of the Bible would be shocked at that attitude. Did not all the Prophets of the Old Testament have to contend with the politicians of their time?’ Paul (St. Paul), certainly had his battles with the political establishment of his day. Surely you see the parallels of Jesus confrontations with the Jewish Establishment and the current battle with the candidate and the Swamp?
2 Corinthians 11:24-27
“From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness –” (2 Corinthians 11:24-27)
Pastors Must Inform Their Flock
If you are a Pastor or a Priest you have an obligation to inform your flock of God’s Word. You are more than likely familiar with George Barna’s work in researching and polling Christian statistics and behaviors.
Opposition To Eliminate God’s Presence
Let’s not kid ourselves, the opposition wants to eliminate God from the public square and they have been working at just that for 60 plus years; we need all hands-on deck to protect our Right to Worship God!

God Bless You
I am glad you are here! I am praying for you and your family. God Bless You!
Register by October 9th
If you live in Missouri and intend to vote in the November General Election, you must register to vote by October 9th, 2024.
Critical To Vote November 5th
The ballot next month is huge, in both the quantity of the people running for election, five Constitutional Amendments and Proposition A being put forth to the voters and the importance of this election cycle, which cannot be overstated.
Unless you have just emerged from a cave, you are aware that we are a very divided country. The disagreements are intense. The differences are very clear. Our County is in serious trouble!
Consult God Before Voting
We are not going to talk about the candidates; in a previous post, I suggested when voting for someone, please have a Bible in your hand, as a guidebook. This is not a ridiculous idea; our Founding Fathers would expect us to seek God’s will in any decisions about who to vote for!
Missouri Constitutional Amendments
Instead, let’s talk about the Constitutional Amendments. First, let me say that Amending the Constitution is a big deal and it should be. This is not to be taken lightly, and once enacted is very difficult to change. Most, if not all, of these proposed amendments could be put in place or rejected by the State Legislature, if our State Senators and Representatives had the necessary courage. Let’s discuss each Amendment in order:
No 2: Sports Betting
Constitutional Amendment No. 2: Have you watched any sporting events on television lately; if so, you have been subjected to a steady stream of advertisements for ‘Sports Betting.’ It was not that long ago when the words ‘Sports’ and ‘Gambling’ would not appear in the same sentence unless someone was being indicted by a court or disciplined by the particular league the defendant was associated with. Remember Pete Rose and the 1919 Chicago White Socks? Now we are being urged to allow ‘Sports Gambling’ in Missouri with the promise that millions of dollars, perhaps hundreds of million, will go to Missouri schools, which do rank in the lower 50% of the nation.
Same Argument As Lottery – Lies!
This is the same argument proponents used 50 plus years ago to convince the voters that Missouri needed a Lottery! Have your schools improved over the last 50 years? Have your property taxes reflected these millions coming from the Lottery to the schools? The answer to both questions is: NO. We are being lied to!
Gambling Addiction Destroys Families
However, the money is not the reason I am asking you to vote ‘No.’ The people, the families and the life’s ruined are my concern. You probably know someone addicted to gambling. Gamblers Anonymous does not get a lot of press, but is an organization which helps addicts, gambling addicts, and their families to get their life back on track.
Gambling Is Evil
Gambling is evil and does not raise us to a higher moral standard. The Bible does not talk very much about gambling, but the 10th Commandment prohibits ‘covetousness,’ which is defined as “excessively and culpably desirous of that which belongs to another.” I do not know if the Lord considers all gambling sinful; but I am sure that He considers it sinful to ruin the life of family and others! Our goal here on earth should be to live holy lives; gambling is not holy and can only lead to problems!
Constitutional Amendment No. 3: This is the big one this election cycle! Amendment 3 seeks to enshrine abortion as a constitutional right in the State of Missouri, remove existing laws protecting the unborn, and fund abortion through taxpayers. Amendment 3 will also make abortions legal all nine months of the pregnancy and minors will be able to obtain an abortion without parental consent.
Abortions without restrictions, paid for by taxpayers and your children do not need your permission!
Abortion Is The Killing Of A Human Being
Unlike gambling, the Bible has a lot to say about the killing of human beings! It is wrong! It is sinful!
Missouri: Vote ‘NO’ on Amendment 3
Some states have already amended their constitutions to create a right to abortion and Missouri is one of ten states to vote on constitutional amendments to legalize abortions this coming November.
Missouri: Leaders Lead – Sheep Follow
I urge you Missouri, I beg you to stand up for the unborn, stand up for life and show the whole country that Missourians are not sheep, but leaders. Stand up for goodness and holiness; this is pure evil!
Constitutional Amendment No. 5: Seeks to allow one additional gambling boat license to operate on the portion of the Osage River from the Missouri River to the Bagnell Dam.
One more gambling boat is just as evil and does not raise our moral standings.
Vote ‘NO’ on Amendment 5!
Constitutional Amendment No. 6: Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to provide that the administration of justice shall include the levying of costs and fees to support salaries and benefits for certain current and former law enforcement personnel? State and local governmental entities estimate an unknown fiscal impact.
Unknown fiscal impact? Where is the State Legislature?
Constitutional Amendment No. 7: Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to make the Constitution consistent with state law by only allowing citizens of the United States to vote; prohibit the ranking of candidates by limiting voters to a single vote per candidate or issue; and require the plurality winner of a political party primary to be the single candidate at a general election.
Voters Should Be U. S. Citizens Of Course
Research shows Missouri already requires voters to be citizens of the U. S. This sounds like this is another task for our state legislators! I do firmly believe our voters should be U. S. citizens! Maybe what we really need is a Constitutional Amendment requiring our elected representatives to do their job!
Vote ‘NO’ on Amendment 7!
Please Get Registered!
Please make sure you are registered and do vote on November 5th.
You Are Welcome Here Thank you for being here. You are in my prayers daily, asking the Lord to Bless you and your families and to bring you to the point where you can accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. God’s Law & Prophecy Earlier this week God’s Commandments were introduced, as well as…
Earlier this week God’s Commandments were introduced, as well as Prophecy. My intention is to go through the Commandments one at a time, tell you what Jesus and the Bible has to say about them and then talk about prophecies.
God’s Law Critical To Our Founding Fathers
God gave Moses the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai, written by the hand of God, as the Israelites travelled from Egypt to the Promised Land roughly 1,500 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. The Ten Commandments are still relative today. Our Founding Fathers used God’s Law in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution as building blocks. By God’s Law is the knowledge of sin.
No False Gods
The First Commandment: “You shall have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3). Pretty straight-forward; The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the one true God. He Loves you and wants you to know and love Him and He knows what is in your heart. As I have said before, we are created with a yearning for God. If we substitute something else, like sex, drugs, alcohol, sports, entertainment, children, pets or anything else that replaces God, it is sinful.
Isaiah 45:22-23
Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath. (Isaiah 45:22-23)
Love Will Cure All
Love will cover a lot of mistakes as it did for King David in the Old Testament and Peter in the New:
Matthew 22:35-38
“Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, ‘Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?’ Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.’”
Early Messianic Prophecy
The following is one of the earliest prophecies in the Bible; let me know if you think this has not been fulfilled:
Genesis 3:14-19
“So the Lord God said to the serpent: ‘Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field, On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.’ To the woman He said: ‘I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And He shall rule over you.’ Then to Adam He said, ‘Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: ‘Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field, In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.’
1,000 Years Before Christ (B. C.)
The approximate date of the above Prophecy is ‘thousand of years B. C. (Before Christ).’
Enjoy God’s Word
I hope you are taking some time to read the Scripture Verses in these posts. Lot of good information and they are part of the inerrant Word of God.

Hope all is well with you. May the Lord protect you and your families, give you peace and lead you to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ Is The Messiah
The study of God’s Law and Prophecy regarding the Messiah will lead us to the conclusion that Jesus Christ is the Messiah; the Son of God, who took on the form of a man, dying on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins, being Resurrected three days later, forever defeating Death.
I urge you to get into the habit of meditating on God. In our fast-paced society, we often do not take time to clear our minds, search our hearts and seek our true purpose on this earth.
Religion Will Not Satisfy – Jesus Will!
Maybe you have heard of Jesus and God or maybe you haven’t; perhaps this is a brand new subject to you. Even if you have not heard of Him, you are indeed searching for God, perhaps without realizing it. As you have heard me say before, each human being is born with a yearning for God; that is why you can never be satisfied for any sustained period of time! You are searching for God! Religion cannot satisfy, only a relationship with Jesus Christ. When you find Him you can finally be truly satisfied by accepting the Salvation He offers.
Psalm 42:1-2
As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
John 7:37-38
“On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
Salvation Through The Cross
I cannot save you. Only Jesus can! My goal is to ignite a spark in you to seek Salvation through the Cross of Jesus Christ; to open your heart to the Holy Spirit.
The Law Identifies Sin
Knowledge of the Law shows us what Sin is.
Romans 3:20
Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
I Beg You To Get Right With God!
I think you know what sin is; you know it in your heart. You have a soul; you have a conscience – you know what is right and what is wrong. You know it is wrong to dishonor your parents. You know it is murder to kill a baby in the womb. You can say you do not believe in God nor His Word, but if you will truly examine your heart and soul, you will be forced to acknowledge you are on the wrong side of God’s Word. I beg you to get right with God!
Romans 1:18-21
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, `who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” (Romans 1:18-21)
Will You Accept Jesus?
At the end of the day, it is your decision to accept or reject Jesus; He will not force you and no one can do it for you. Jesus tells us that most people will reject Him; only a few will accept Jesus.
Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

Welcome I Am Glad You Are Here
Hello! I hope this note finds you and your family in good health, physically well and spiritually a disciple of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Vote In Eight Weeks
Eight weeks from today is voting day 2024 when we elect a President, a third of the United States Senators, all 435 U. S. Representatives, a new Governor, and many State-wide and local elections.
To register to vote In the State of Missouri you need to be at least 17 ½ years old, be a United States citizen and a Missouri resident. The deadline to register to vote in the November 2024 General Election is October 9th, 2024. Other states’ requirements and deadlines will differ; contact your Secretary of (your) State for assistance.
Honest-Moral-Servant’s Heart
It is a privilege and an honor to be able to vote. I will go so far as to say it is your duty to vote. You are responsible to inform yourself about the candidates and the issues and vote as your conscience dictates. At a minimum, you should expect honesty, high moral character and a desire to serve from your candidate. Also, I want my candidates to be Christian.
1 Timothy 2:1-2
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
Christian? Vote!
A word to the Christians reading this: For some reason, that is not Biblical, Christians have a reputation as being non-voters – shame on you if this is you! You have a mandate directly from Jesus to be salt and light, to be an example to other Christians and non-Christians alike! There are plenty of issues requiring your attention; if you do not vote you are giving the abortionists, the LGBT community, the sex-traffickers, the illegal aliens and others a free ride to cause further damage and destruction to our beloved country.
Use Scripture To Vet Candidates
How do you know who to vote for? I am here to help you! You will need a Bible opened to Exodus, Chapter 20, Verses 1-17: Now just go through God’s Commandments and align the people on your ballot with His Law. For example, the 6th Commandment says, ‘You shall not murder,’ so you should pick a candidate who believes in life; this would eliminate any candidates who advocate abortion. The next Commandment is that ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ so you would want to pick a potential legislator who believes in marriage and sexual relations between one man and one woman. Apply this logic to each candidate, using each Commandment and you will know exactly who to vote for. You might want to get a sample ballot and do this research in advance.
Founding Fathers Acquainted With Scripture
My message in that last paragraph will, undoubtedly hold me up to ridicule and criticism; using the Bible as a guide to voting? Crazy! Or is it? I can assure you that our Founding Fathers would not even have raised an eyebrow at the thought of using the Bible as a voting aid. Most of our Founders were very well versed in Scripture and being self-educated, for the most part, expected United States citizens to use the Bible as a guide in their lives. It is only in the last 60 years, since the godless United States Supreme Court ruled in the 1962 Engel v. Vitale decision that God and His Bible have experienced a loss of popularity.
Register & Vote
Please be sure to register and vote, our County is in deep trouble and needs your help!
Next Week: God’s Law – Prophecy
Next week will be an introduction to God’s Law and Prophecy; it is my intention that these two topics will help you to decide to give your life to Jesus Christ. See you then.

People Desire Peace With God
I believe every person on earth desires to be at peace with God; I know this is not what our world looks like. However, if you could get each person alone and ask them a few questions, peeling back that onion, we would find that most, if not all, people want to live in peace with their fellow man and with their Creator.
We Are Created In God’s Image
Before you call 911 and ask the people in the white coats to come pick me up and take me to the institution, let me explain: All of us are created by God and all of us are created equal. God does not make some of us good and some evil; He creates each of us in His image. And God loves each and every one of us.
Jesus: The Perfect Sacrifice For Our Sins
God loves each of us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Dying on the Cross, Jesus was laid in a tomb and on the third day was Resurrected, defeating death forever. Jesus did this so we would not have to; all we have to do is acknowledge what Jesus has done for us and accept Him as our Savior.
Upcoming: God’s Law & Prophecies
The posts of the last couple of weeks have been about knowing and finding God. Over the next few weeks, we are going to talk about The Law of God, which will show us what sin looks like, and Prophecies, which forecasted the Messiah hundreds of years before Jesus was born.

Author’s Note
Author’s Note: This post is the conclusion of last week’s by the same name.
Pray: Prayer is talking to God – a conversation with God. If you want to pray Psalms or Proverbs or prayers from a book, that is fine. But make sure to develop the habit of spontaneously opening your heart to God in Prayer. God is especially touched by your heartfelt outpouring. As you get used to praying and start realizing what an active part God is playing in your life, you will want to expand your prayer life to include the whole day. From that “Good Morning, God, I dedicate this day to You” to “Good Night, God, thank you for taking care of me today” and throughout the day, get in the habit of praying to God. God loves it when you talk to Him.
ACTS
A popular memory tool for people just starting out is the acronym ‘ACTS’: Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. So, you will start your Prayer time by Adoring God; repenting of your sins – being Contrite; giving Thanks to God and finally, asking for God’s help in a particular area making Supplication to Him.
Prayer Is Vital
It is vital that you Pray. Having a relationship with God or hoping to get close to God is impossible to imagine without Prayer. Once again, your heart and attitude are everything.
Meditation & Prayer Work Together
You will understand that spending time with God in meditation and prayer work together to help you know God more fully. The key to aligning your requests with God’s will is getting to know our heavenly Father’s character and priorities.
1 John 5:14-15
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
Born With Soul, Conscience & Yearning for God
Human beings are born with a soul, a conscience and a yearning to worship God. The conscience enables us to know right from wrong, at a relatively early age and the yearning to worship God (Often referred to as a ‘God-hole’) helps to explain the false gods we tend to embrace – if we take our eye off the One True God.
Romans 1:20-21
“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
Bible: The Inerrant Word Of God
The Holy Bible is God’s inerrant Word. The Bible is Absolute Truth. Almost everything we know about God comes from the Bible (remember the “God-Hole” we spoke of earlier?)
God’s Plan To Redeem Us
From beginning to end, the Bible is about God’s plan to redeem us, to save us from our sins through the crucifixion, death and Resurrection of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Before God said “Let there be light,” He knew He would send His Son to rescue us.
Bible Reads Like A Political Thriller
Much of the Bible reads like a political thriller or a crime novel. The Bible has it all: Intrigue, sex, betrayal, treachery, good and bad guys, heroes and villains. What you learn pretty quickly is that the Biblical heroes were not perfect; most had moral issues. But each of them loved the Lord, repented of their sins and moved His plan along to the next generation.
Biblical Facts
Some facts about the Bible:
The Bible was written over a period of about 1,500 years by over 40 authors.
The Protestant Bible contains 66 books; 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament and has a total of 1,189 chapters.
The Roman Catholic Bible contains 73 books; 46 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament and has a total of 1,334 chapters.
For both Protestants and Roman Catholics, the New Testaments are the same (taking into account differences in versions: For example: The New King James Version vs. the New American Standard Bible.
As this is being written, the entire Bible has been translated into over 700 languages and usually sells more than 100 million copies annually.
In both the Protestant and the Roman Catholic Bibles, the Old Testaments contain over three and a half Chapters for each New Testament Chapter. I have heard many people say, “I do not read the Old Testament. It is not relevant.” I would dispute that. The Old Testament is very important. It contains the story from Creation to Noah and the Great Flood; to Abraham and The Covenant God made with Abraham and His people. Old Testament Prophesies prove that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. From the very first book, Genesis, the Bible is pointing towards Jesus Christ and His death and Resurrection. If you do not read the Old Testament, you will miss much of what God has to say to you.
Read The Bible
I would encourage you to just get started reading the Bible. Say a little prayer before reading asking the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you are reading. Even if you only have a few minutes, you can get started and after a little practice you will begin to feel comfortable. There are many different Bibles available to you. I would recommend using the Bible you currently have at home. I personally like study bibles because they will sometimes help me to understand the material better. But remember, the comments or explanations are not inerrant–only God’s Words can be absolutely trusted. The References and Resources chapter of the book,The Truth About God: How To Find Joy and Peacewill list some Bibles that I have used; there are many others. When you decide to buy a Bible, please make sure Jesus’ words are in red. You’ll find it very helpful. One more recommendation: Try to get in the habit of reading the Bible out loud (out loud, not necessarily loudly). I have found that vocalizing the reading helps my understanding and slows me down a bit.
Just Get Started
Where to start in the Bible? John’s Gospel is a good place to start. It is really up to you. Many people like to begin on page one and read all the way thorough; others like to jump around. Don’t forget the books of Psalms and Proverbs. The general theme of the former is Praise the Lord, while the latter is how to live a Godly, holy and satisfying life. All are important.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Seek God With A Pure Heart – You Will Find Him!
Do not get frustrated if your progress seems slow; it takes a lifetime to seek and know God.
God Loves You
In summarizing, you can know and find God, with almost immediate results, if in your heart, you are sincere. Spend some quality time with the Lord, in Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving or Supplication. Read the Bible; use it as a self-help manual, learning how to tap into the inexhaustible supply of love from our heavenly Father.
1 John 4:7-11
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (1 John 4:7-11)

Author’s Note: This week and next I am presenting to you the 14th Chapter of “The Truth About God: How To Find Joy and Peace.” This is in preparation for discussing with you Biblical Law and Prophesies demonstrating your need for a Savior and God’s Word pointing to Jesus Christ as Lord and your personal Savior.
You Can Get To Know God
You might be thinking that you want to know God better. I cannot make many promises to you, but I can assure you that if you will make a sincere and honest effort to find and get to know God, He will reveal Himself to you and will help you to get on the right path. In Jesus’ Words:
To get to know God, I am going to suggest you incorporate three practices into your life: (1) Spend quiet time with God, (2) Pray and (3) Read the Holy Bible, the inerrant Word of God.
Your Heart’s Content Is Most Important
You can work these behaviors into your life with an attitude of sincere desire to learn the Truth about God. It is not necessary to accomplish these at the same time nor in the order given. What is in your heart is most important.
Holy Spirit Will Help You Seek After God
I want to give you a word of comfort: If someone had said to me in 1999, after accepting Jesus as my Savior, that I needed to add three new chores to my already crowded schedule, I would have felt extremely overwhelmed at the thought. I am not asking you to spend an hour a day on each of these practices; I am asking you to get in touch with God and listen to your heart. Start small and be comfortable. I used to travel a lot by automobile. I enjoyed listening to music and talk radio; I discovered Christian radio, both musical and talk and I would listen to those while traveling. A good attitude and a sincere effort are the most important tools you will need; The Holy Spirit will help you.
God also often speaks to me with a thought that just pops into my head. I will give you an example: several months ago, on a Sunday, we had intended to go to Church, but the Lord put it in my mind to watch Dr. Charles Stanley on TV. The message Dr. Stanley preached was about Listening to God. It hit me like a ton of bricks that I had not included in “The Truth About God” how important it is to listen to Him; a major oversight on my part, enabling me to make the correction before publication.
God Is In Absolute Control
For years I have struggled with how do I know if God is talking to me or am I just having these random thoughts? The answer to that question is: Trust God! At the end of this paragraph I am going to give you two Scripture verses from Proverbs which are essential. These may not be the most important verses in the Bible, but I can assure you that without following the advice they offer, very little will change in your life. I used to believe in accidents and coincidences. No longer – God is completely in control of everything! This does not mean that I will never again experience an accident; it does mean God has a purpose for allowing that accident.
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
Trust God – Trust Jesus – Trust The Holy Spirit
I can give you some guidance regarding Listening to God: He will usually speak quietly, just a vapor of a thought; it will probably be clear and concise; and, most assuredly, will be in alignment with the Word of God – the Bible! You must develop a ‘Listening Heart’—a habit, if you will, of Listening to God. Trust God – Trust Jesus – Trust the Holy Spirit: Watch Him Work!
Spend Time With God
Spend quiet time with God: This is a bit like meditation, except the focus is on God, not you. This takes practice and some days are more productive than others. You want to clear your mind and listen for God to talk to you. Be aware that God may not always talk to you immediately, so just be alert for Him. It is not easy to keep your mind free of distractions and do not forget that Satan does not want you to meditate on God; he will try to distract you. Do not give up. When you get distracted and find yourself not listening for God just stop. Clear your mind and go at it again. I use a Scripture verse to ask for God’s help:
1 Samuel 3:9
“…Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears….” (1 Samuel 3:9)
God Knows You – Be Sincere & Persistent
Sometimes, God talks to me, but usually not. That is ok. The important thing is your attitude. God knows your every thought and He knows what is in your heart. God knows if you are sincerely trying to know Him better; He knows if you are just going through the motions. Be sincere and persistent.
Psalm 19:14
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heartBe acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14)

God Expelled
I have long thought the United States Supreme Court ruling in Abington School District v. Schempp, on June 17, 1963, in an 8-1 ruling, has had a catastrophic effect on our country. The godless Supreme Court ruled that school-sponsored Bible reading and the recitation of the Lord’s Prayer in public schools in the United States is unconstitutional. Yes, God was expelled from our public schools after 187 years of faithful attendance.
Founding Fathers Appalled
While I have not spoken to them, I am sure our Founding Fathers would be appalled to learn of this 1963 decision by the Supreme Court.
Benjamin Rush – Founding Father
“Let the children… be carefully instructed in the principles and obligations of the Christian religion. This is the most essential part of education. The great enemy of the salvation of man, in my opinion, never invented a more effectual means of extirpating (removing) Christianity from the world than by persuading mankind that it was improper to read the Bible at schools.”(Benjamin Rush, signer of the Declaration of Independence and Founding Father).
Mental Health Issues
In my opinion this decision has led to a dramatic increase in mass shootings, abortions, suicides, sexual irregularities, drug and alcohol abuse, lying, mental health issues and a just as dramatic, a decrease in plain old civility. Of course, I cannot scientifically prove this nor can anyone prove me wrong.
Psalm 1:1-3
“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.”

You are welcome to search the archives of the Blog page on the MeetTheTruth.net website; look for a May 8, 2024 post entitled: We Have Rejected God. I suspect we will be talking more about the 1963 Supreme Court decision in the future.
CDC Promotes Meditation In Schools
Recently, The Washington Stand published an article dated August 6, 2024 about the Center for Disease Control (CDC) promoting meditation in public schools to enhance ‘Equity.’
The word ‘meditation’ probably brings to mind relaxing, reducing stress and improving focus; what evil could possibly be associated with these goals?
Psalm 49:1-4
“Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world, Both low and high, Rich and poor together. My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding. I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will disclose my dark saying on the harp.”
Stand Strong For Jesus
Anything that moves you away from God or Jesus is harmful. Prior to 1963, when prayer was allowed in our public schools, children learned there is a God, He Loves You and He is available to listen to you. I can recall times as a child informally turning to God for advice; for His counsel. Towards the end of high school, I remember going through a phase of looking for the ‘One Mind,’ a secular attempt to reach the ‘Universal Mind.’ It took only a few sessions of this meditation technique to figure out I was being foolish and what I was actually finding was God, by a different name.
God Has Expectations Of Us
You see, we, each human being who has ever lived on planet earth, have been created by God. He has expectations of us; He expects each of us to love God and each other. He expects us to obey Him. As aids to obeying God, each of us are created with a soul, which includes a yearning for God; sometimes called a ‘God-Hole, and a conscience.’ Biblically, this soul and conscience is referred to as our ‘heart.’ He supplied us with this ‘heart’ to aid us in knowing right from wrong; to help us in being obedient to our Creator.
One True God
In 1963, we, as a society, turned our backs on God. We rejected Him and taught generations of children there is no God and at the very least there is not one true God – one Supreme Being to which we will be held accountable! But that is a lie. The God of the Bible is the One True God; this is an Absolute Truth you can count on.
John Adams, 2nd President & Founding Father
“It is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue.” (John Adams, Second President of the United States; Founding Father)
All those sins I listed in the second paragraph (mass shootings, suicides, etc.) start in the heart, transition to the mind and without a healthy conscience or knowledge of God, nor His Son, Jesus Christ, people are left to themselves to determine right from wrong. All sin starts in the heart; If people are not taught about God, about His Omniscience, Omnipresence and Omnipotence they will not be prepared to turn to God when crisis comes. If we teach people there is no God, we should not be surprised when they act as if there is not God.
Luke 21:14-15
“Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist”.
Love And Serve God
Our purpose here on earth is to love and serve God; we do this by accepting His Son, Jesus Christ, as our Lord and personal Savior. Meditating on God’s Word can lead to peace, joy and contentment; It is the only way to achieve lasting, true Peace, Joy and Contentment.
Pray to God And Jesus Christ
Please teach your children and grand-children to believe and to pray to God and His Son Jesus Christ; in fact, give it a try yourself, you might be surprised with the results.

Author’s Note: I want to ask you to forward this post to everyone you know. My intention is to warn as many people as possible that Jesus Christ is coming back soon, gathering His saints and returning to heaven! This will be a one-time event. To be a part of this Rapture you must have a personal relationship with Jesus, which can be yours by being Born-Again, accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior!
Sin Not Part Of God’s Plan
Sin was not part of God’s plan when He created Heaven and Earth; Man being created in His own image, including free will. God’s plan was to live in fellowship with man. Sin did not exist until the 3rd chapter of Genesis; the rest of the Bible is about God’s plan to rescue His people from sin and the penalties which result. This plan culminates in The Atonement of Jesus Christ.
Consequences Of Sin
As one might imagine, sin has consequences:
Genesis 3:16-19
“To the woman He said: ‘I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And He shall rule over you.’ Then to Adam He said, ‘Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: ‘Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.’”
The Fall
This is the event that is referred to as “The Fall.” Prior to sin’s introduction, clothing had not been necessary:
Genesis 2:25
“And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
Banished From Garden
God clothed Adam and Eve and banished them from the garden of Eden:
Genesis 3:21-24
“Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. Then the Lord God said, ‘Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever’ – therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.”
The Lord Sorry He Created Man
As people began to multiply God became sorry that He had made Man:
Genesis 6:5-8
“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, ‘I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.’ But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”
Noah And Great Flood
God used a great Flood to destroy all life on earth, except the family of Noah, a just man, perfect in his generations (Gen 6:9). Eight people survived the Flood; Noah, Noah’s wife, three sons and their wives. God promised to never again destroy the whole earth by flooding.
Noah’s Family Survived
The Flood wiped out all the people, except Noah’s family, but did not end humanities’ proclivity to sin. Sometime later, during the time of Abraham, God destroyed the city-states of Sodom and Gomorrah because of sexual depravity.
Psalm 53:1-3
“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none who does good. God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. Every one of them has turned aside; They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.”
Sin Is Man’s Greatest Problem
Man’s sinfulness has been unabated throughout history. Sin is man’s greatest problem. Sin is disobeying and rejecting God; turning our backs on God.
Isaiah 59:2
But your iniquities have separated you from your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2)
Jesus Paid Sin Penalty
About two thousand years ago, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay our sin-penalty by dying a horrific death on the Cross, being buried and rising from the dead three days later. Jesus has paid the price for your sins and mine. Jesus wants you to join Him in Heaven when you leave this earth. You can invite Jesus into your heart by saying this prayer:
Prayer Of Salvation
Dear Lord Jesus:I know I am a sinner,And I ask for Your Forgiveness.I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead.I trust you as my Lord and Savior.Guide my life and help me to do Your will.In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Faith – Not Works
The Salvation Jesus offers comes through faith, not good works; you cannot earn your way to Heaven.
Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
