Author’s Note
Author’s Note: I want to ask you to forward this post to everyone you know. My intention is to warn as many people as possible that Jesus Christ is coming back soon, gathering His saints and returning to heaven! This will be a one-time event. To be a part of this Rapture you must have a personal relationship with Jesus, which can be yours by being Born-Again, accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior!
Sin Not Part Of God’s Plan
Sin was not part of God’s plan when He created Heaven and Earth; Man being created in His own image, including free will. God’s plan was to live in fellowship with man. Sin did not exist until the 3rd chapter of Genesis; the rest of the Bible is about God’s plan to rescue His people from sin and the penalties which result. This plan culminates in The Atonement of Jesus Christ.
Consequences Of Sin
As one might imagine, sin has consequences:
Genesis 3:16-19
“To the woman He said: ‘I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And He shall rule over you.’ Then to Adam He said, ‘Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: ‘Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.’”
The Fall
This is the event that is referred to as “The Fall.” Prior to sin’s introduction, clothing had not been necessary:
Genesis 2:25
“And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
Banished From Garden
God clothed Adam and Eve and banished them from the garden of Eden:
Genesis 3:21-24
“Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. Then the Lord God said, ‘Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever’ – therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.”
The Lord Sorry He Created Man
As people began to multiply God became sorry that He had made Man:
Genesis 6:5-8
“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, ‘I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.’ But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”
Noah And Great Flood
God used a great Flood to destroy all life on earth, except the family of Noah, a just man, perfect in his generations (Gen 6:9). Eight people survived the Flood; Noah, Noah’s wife, three sons and their wives. God promised to never again destroy the whole earth by flooding.
Noah’s Family Survived
The Flood wiped out all the people, except Noah’s family, but did not end humanities’ proclivity to sin. Sometime later, during the time of Abraham, God destroyed the city-states of Sodom and Gomorrah because of sexual depravity.
Psalm 53:1-3
“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none who does good. God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. Every one of them has turned aside; They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.”
Sin Is Man’s Greatest Problem
Man’s sinfulness has been unabated throughout history. Sin is man’s greatest problem. Sin is disobeying and rejecting God; turning our backs on God.
Isaiah 59:2
But your iniquities have separated you from your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2)
Jesus Paid Sin Penalty
About two thousand years ago, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay our sin-penalty by dying a horrific death on the Cross, being buried and rising from the dead three days later. Jesus has paid the price for your sins and mine. Jesus wants you to join Him in Heaven when you leave this earth. You can invite Jesus into your heart by saying this prayer:
Prayer Of Salvation
Dear Lord Jesus:I know I am a sinner,And I ask for Your Forgiveness.I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead.I trust you as my Lord and Savior.Guide my life and help me to do Your will.In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Faith – Not Works
The Salvation Jesus offers comes through faith, not good works; you cannot earn your way to Heaven.
Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
